Executive Summary: This is a brief review because I've had a lot of time with the Back-scratch One and these perform nearly as well with a more durable upper and slightly ameliorate cushioning.

I actually wasn't going to even carp picking these up but I tried them on at Dick's and  thought they felt meliorate underfoot than the Curry 1. People will pass on these since they are a take down model merely that's too bad for the uninformed because these are pretty good especially if you lot liked the Curry ane.

Here is my Curry 1 Review:

Curry One

Pros: traction, slightly improved cushioning, fit, stability, containment

Cons: old style constructed upper looks plasticky, cushioning on the Curry 2 is withal better

Sizing: truthful to size, same as Curry I

Buying communication: wait for sales or clearance stores $69 and nether

Weight:

About the aforementioned as the Curry I.

Traction
Exactly the same every bit the Curry One. Great on clean floors simply needs wiping on dirtier floors. These are about as low as I will get in terms of dirty floor traction performance. Anything worse than this and I don't even carp.

If you've ever played in the Clutchfit Drive one or two, these play the same way.

Cushioning

I know they wait like they are exactly the same  fix up but the Lightning iii feels better to me than the Curry One. Fifty-fifty without this non descript sock liner (not even Ortholite) the cushioning has a little more than give to it than the Curry One.

Every bit Weartesters'  Duke0405's interview with Dombrow stated, in that location is always a mix of Micro Grand and Charged and it changes from shoe to shoe. To me, these feel better than the Curry One Low which had an Ortholite sockliner rather than a Micro M sockliner in the Mid. Information technology feels similar a mix betwixt the Curry I and Two cushioning.

I didn't really like the cushioning of the Curry One because I felt it didn't give much bounciness and felt much harder than the Clutchfit Drive. The cushioning on the Lightning 3 is slightly better specially in the heel.

Materials

Obviously this is the biggest deviation between the Curry One and Lightning 3 simply surprisingly information technology doesn't make a huge departure.  I thought the upper would play super stiff since the upper looks like shiny plastic simply it doesn't take the cheap crunchy experience I expected. UA did a squeamish job eliminating the stiffness and weight by removing some of the constructed and using straps instead.

There are some weird flexing spots but information technology didn't touch on the fit since the strap system holds the human foot down in those areas.

It doesn't arrange to the foot all over like Anafoam but this upper is perfectly acceptable to me.
Fit

Exactly the same sizing as the Back-scratch One which is true to size size 11 for me
The materials do non adapt to your foot like Anafoam just they don't need to with the strap/wings in identify.

There is no movement at all side to side or front end to back. Even the deadspace in the toe box of Back-scratch One has disappeared.

At that place is no dogbone or contours in the ankle collar similar the Curry 1 merely I didn't even notice their absence every bit my human foot was locked in perfectly. You can see the nice padding of the tongue as well.

Back up and stability

Support is about same equally the Curry Ane, maybe a little amend since the upper is slightly stiffer. The external heel prune looks short but there is an internal one as well

Too has the same plastic midfoot shank as well.

Stability is first-class just like the Curry One. It features an outrigger in the forefoot also and easily passes my heel test.

Containment

Straps and constructed ? Yep delight

Containment is excellent on the Lightning iii.

Decision

Want to play outdoors in the Curry One? Well here is your shoe. No need to worry about Anafoam ripping or tearing. Y'all don't fifty-fifty accept to worry nigh depreciating a highly sought after collectible. If someone asked what yous're rocking, merely say information technology's the Veteran's Day Curry One or South.Curry 1 (S is for Seth).

Equally with all take down models, these volition go on sale soon and then hit Marshall's, Ross etc. for $34.99 by next year only if you're really itching for a Back-scratch 1 like shoe, the Lightning 3 will do the job.
